Specialized Services
As your financial advisor, I am committed to a lifetime of continuous education that is needed to ensure you are getting the best advice and most beneficial services in each of the following areas:INSURANCE
Buying the right insurance isn’t always an obvious choice.
There is a lot to think about and many questions that need answering.
- What type of insurance do I need?
- How much is enough?
- What should it cover?
- Who should I insure?
- What is the difference between term, whole life, and universal insurance – And which one do I need?
By investing time to know each client’s unique situation, I will answer each of your questions thoroughly and ensure your insurance policies are tailored to fit both your needs and your life circumstances.
Life Insurance
Whether it is an investment vehicle or a term policy, when choosing life insurance you want to ensure your loved ones will be properly cared for. Considerations should include:
• Income substitution for your family
• Taking care of your children’s education
• Paying down mortgages and vehicle loans
• Dealing with outstanding financial debts
• Other costs (e.g. funeral expenses)
Disability Income Insurance
Many people are unable to continue in the workforce through to the age of 65 due to various physical and mental disabilities that occur in life. Having adequate disability insurance will ensure that your income and lifestyle are protected in such an event that could otherwise cause you to deplete your savings before you are even ready to retire.
Health and Travel Insurance
Whether you are taking a couple weeks vacation or spending your winters some place warm, Health and Travel Insurance is an essential item to take with you. While a broken ankle or infection can ruin a vacation, having proper health and travel insurance will prevent it from ruining your financial future.
Critical Illness Insurance
Suffering the effects of a critical illness can have life altering implications for both you and your family. With critical illness insurance, you receive a lump sum payment following the defined survival period which you are free to spend as you see fit.
While recovering from a heart attack, stroke, or cancer treatment this type of insurance will provide you and your family with the financial peace of mind knowing your illness won’t also be crippling your finances; freeing you to focus on recovering your health.

Pensions | RRSPs | RRIF | Annuities
Each of these are designed to provide you with a steady income from the investments they contain.
- Pensions - Are typically employer funded retirement savings plans.
- RRSP’s - Allow you to save for your retirement with the benefit of tax deferred growth and a number of investment options
- RRIF - Once retired, your RRSPs can be converted to a RRIF which provides regular withdrawals and continued tax deferred growth
- Annuities - Exchange a lump sum investment for guaranteed regular income payments
Each one has numerous options - Determining which ones are best for you and managing them properly is all part of the service I offer.
Tax Free Savings Account
Unlike an RRSP, investment income and capital gains earned in a TFSA are not taxed - Even when you withdraw money from the account which which you can do at any time. The annual contribution amount is established by the Federal Government.
A TFSA can hold a combination of eligible investments including:
- stocks
- bonds

- Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs)
- and cash.
With a TFSA I can also set you up on a regular monthly contribution plan to make saving for your retirement, or next major purchase, both easy and convenient.

Estate Planning
According to the Cornell University Law School, Wex Legal Dictionary:

~ Estate planning is the process by which an individual or family arranges the transfer of assets in anticipation of death. An estate plan aims to preserve the maximum amount of wealth possible for the intended beneficiaries and flexibility for the individual prior to death ~

It sounds simple, but putting this into practice is not so easy. Getting it right takes experience and expert knowledge of the different options that are available to you. As an independent financial advisor, I have helped many people just like you sort through the details and put an estate plan in place that ensures your loved ones are looked after while giving you the flexibility you need.

Long Term Care Plans allow you to plan ahead, ensuring the added expenses of assisted living or in-home care are covered without depleting your savings. Depending on the coverage and plans you choose, determining the quality and location of the care you receive - even the medical equipment needed - is determined by you.
